Terms of use

Draft dated 23 October 2026

These terms apply when you use the Mira website and the Mira Companion app. By using Mira you agree to them. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer under Irish or EU law.

1. About us

Mira is provided by [company name], registered in Ireland (company number [number]), at [registered address]. Contact: [contact email].

2. What Mira is, and what it isn't

Mira is an AI wellbeing companion: a place to talk things through, reflect, check in with your mood, journal and try simple exercises. Mira is an AI. It is not a person, a therapist, a counsellor or a doctor.

  • Mira doesn’t diagnose, treat or give medical advice, and it isn’t a substitute for professional care.
  • Mira is not an emergency service and can’t contact anyone on your behalf.
  • Mira can make mistakes. Use your own judgement, and speak to a qualified professional about anything important.

3. If you're in crisis

If you’re at risk of harming yourself or someone else, please contact:

More information is on our Safety and support page.

4. Who can use Mira

Mira is for adults aged 18 and over. By using Mira you confirm that you are 18 or older. If you’re under 18, Childline (1800 66 66 66) and Jigsaw can help.

5. Using Mira responsibly

Please don’t:

  • use Mira to harm, harass or deceive anyone, or to create unlawful content;
  • try to get around Mira’s safety features, usage limits or security;
  • use automated tools to access Mira, or share or resell access;
  • share other people’s personal information without a good reason.

We may limit or stop access where these terms are broken, or to keep Mira safe for everyone.

6. Your data

Your conversations, check-ins and journal are stored on your device. Messages are sent to our AI provider only so it can write Mira’s replies. Full details are in our privacy policy. You’re responsible for your device: anyone with access to it may be able to see what’s stored there.

7. Free plan, paid plans and cancelling

The Free plan includes a daily allowance of messages. Safety support is never limited.

Paid plans are not yet available. When they launch:

  • prices will be shown in euro, including VAT where it applies;
  • payments will be taken by Stripe;
  • you’ll be able to cancel at any time through our secure billing portal, effective at the end of the period you’ve paid for;
  • “Unlimited conversations” is for one person’s own use, under a fair-use policy that guards against automated or shared-account use.

Consumer cancellation rights for digital services and any applicable refund rules will be set out clearly before paid plans go on sale.

8. Changes to Mira and these terms

Mira is in early access and will change. We may add, change or remove features. If we change these terms in a way that matters, we’ll tell you before the change takes effect.

9. Responsibility

We take care to make Mira safe and useful, but we can’t guarantee it will always be available or free of errors. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland. The Irish courts will have jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory rights you have as a consumer to bring proceedings in your home country.
